SCHOLARSHIPS FOR JOINING AFROTC

Air Force ROTC offers scholarships to high school seniors and high school graduates. Applicants must have a minimum GP A of 2.5 and minimum SAT scores of 1100, ACT scores of 24. The 2 or 3-year scholarships are offered to in-college students in all majors, but the highest concentration is in science and engineering fields. To qualify, applicants must have a minimum 2.65 GPA for science and engineering majors and a 3.0 GPA for all other majors and must hold an AFROTC Professional Officer Course allocation. If accepted for scholarship, students must pass a physical exam and a physical fitness test. Recipients must later serve on active duty to repay obligation.

The American Water Works Association offers The Holly A. Cornell Scholarship to encourage and support outstanding female and/or minority students pursuing advanced training in the field of water supply and treatment. The Presbyterian Church Higher Education Program provides $2 million dollars in grants, loans, and scholarships to students, both undergraduates and graduates, who belong to the Presbyterian Church. Grants range from $500-$2000 for studies.

Up To $4000 for Female Medical Students

AMW A Student Members are eligible for a variety of awards from the AMW A. The Wilhelm-Frankowski Scholarship of $4000 is offered to medical students attending an
accredited U.S. medical or osteopathic medical school. The Janet M. Glasgow Essay Award of $1000 is presented for the best essay identifying a woman physician who has been a significant mentor and role model. The Carroll L. Birch Award of $500 is presented for the best original research paper written by a student member of the A WMA.
